I said ages ago that this review was coming soon…but I was busy and forgot about it. Sorry about that.
Here’s what the back of the book says:
“What if your whole world was a lie?
The thrillingly dark conclusion to the No. 1 New York Times bestselling DIVERGENT trilogy.
What if a single revelation – like a single choice – changed everything?
What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected?
The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered – fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she’s known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.
But Tris’s new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature – and of herself – while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love.
Told from a riveting dual perspective, Allegiant, by #1 New York Times best-selling author Veronica Roth, brings the Divergent series to a powerful conclusion while revealing the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of readers in Divergent and Insurgent.”
Here’s the thing, this is the final book of the trilogy…and I haven’t read the other books. I got an idea of what they were like from reading their descriptions so I wasn’t really confused while I was reading this one but I just couldn’t get into the book at all. I felt like things could have been explained better and I wasn’t too impressed between the relationship between Tris and Tobias. Honestly, I struggled to enjoy this book to the point that I couldn’t finish it. It’s similar to The Hunger Games in a way but it’s just not my kind of thing.
I was going to do a giveaway for this book but to be honest, I don’t think it’s worth it. Sorry for letting you all down after saying I was going to do it but I just don’t think it’d be worth doing a giveaway on a book that’s uninteresting. I’ll find something better to do a giveaway on.
Anyway, my dogs just ‘exploded’ as Chris described it all over the kitchen floor so I’m gonna go check if she’s ok.
