Wow the first week is almost over. I feel like this month is going to go by quickly. In a couple of weeks Callum will be 3 and the next day will be our 7 year anniversary.
Todays topic is:Tell us what TV shows you are currently watching.
I had a bit of difficulty thinking about this one. I don’t really watch proper TV shows. I spend most of my time watching anime and reading manga. Since all the animes I have been watching are now over and the new ones are just starting there’s not much to talk about there. I was starting to think that I would fail this one but then I remembered something I’ve been watching online. The Return of Superman. It’s a South Korean show where famous dads are left alone with their children for 48hours. For some of these parents, it could be the first time alone with their kids without the mother there. In the beginning my favourite was Tablo from Epik High and his daughter Haru. However, they eventually left the show and a man who has triplets appeared. Song Il Gook. Imagine if you had to look after 3 toddler boys at once. There has been many scenes when he took the children out that they all ran off in different directions and passerbys had to help to round up the children. It seems tough but he never shouts. He is very firm and forgiving of his children which I think is really good. His family is now one of my favourites.
Another family which you cant help but like is Lee Hwi Jae and his twin sons. When the show started, his twins were just 7 or 8 months old and he had never been alone with them. Watching how hard he struggled at the beginning, you really felt sorry for him. Now, his twins are almost 2 years old and he is able to play around with them and take them out with ease. He seems to have grown a lot as a Dad. Maybe he has grown the most while the show has been airing.
Also in the show is MMA fighter Choo Sung-Hoon and his daughter Sarang. He is a real fool for his daughter. It’s fun to watch them mess around and Sarang has a real personality. They’re fun to watch but lately, his wife has also been in the footage and I find her a little annoying. I feel like she is playing up for the cameras a lot instead of being natural and overreacts to a lot of things. I feel a little bad for her because she wants another child but her husband doesn’t want that.
The latest addition to the Superman family is Uhm Tae-Woong and his daughter Ji-On. For him I guess it can be hard because his daugther can’t speak yet so it’s hard to know what she wants but at the same time she is so easygoing that she doesn’t really cry. He really loves his dogs and in the most recent episode his wife got up and saw him cooking chicken (he’s not exactly a good cook) and she asked if he was making breakfast, shocked and a little pleased as if he was making an effort and he went a bit embarrassed and admitted he was in fact making the chicken for his dogs. His reason? He brought them into this world and so he needs to look after them and make sure they have nutrients. I had to laugh because it sounded just like something Chris would do. There were also special guests throughout.
Each week there is a theme for the show such as first experiences and how much they’ve grown so it’s interesting and a bit different each time. I’m really looking forward to the next episode. If you think it would appeal to you, I watch it here. It is in Korean with English subtitles.
